Pigment spots are usually harmless. Many find freckles, because the irregular, speckled spots are of course also pigment spots, even really cute and likeable. Pigment spots, also called hyperpigmentation, can have many different causes, however. Among other things, they can develop as a result of inflammation or be genetically determined.
